Raising Teenage Boys
My eldest son is now approaching 15 and after helping him learn to shave so he could remove some fluffy growth above his lip, it began to dawn on me that I am about to embark on the next phase of parental worrying. Kids are a constant concern, firstly you are terrified they might die in a cot, then they are toddlers whacking their heads on a daily basis (George had a permanent dent in his forehead) and going walkabout without you noticing. A Year In My Own House
A year has past since I moved in to this house, sometimes it feels like it has gone quickly, then it seems quite slow. I have enjoyed being here though, it is nice and quiet and my neighbours are pleasant and friendly from a distance, which suits me just fine, though one of them asked me for game of golf a few times but eventually gave up being rejected. The problem is they have several departments that don't communicate with each other, and they don't really know what they are doing either, which, lets face it, should be ...
Time To Hibernate
I am really annoyed with myself for not going out and about for half an hour yesterday to take some photos in around Basingstoke that made it look like Boston, New England during the fall. The sky was an azure blue that showed the Autumn leaves out in all their glory, it was a wonderful sight, but the only picture I got was the one below which I took just outside Silchester on my mobile phone. Sorry to my friends in Aus for letting you down. The ...
