I was having a riverside chat with my cricket captain yesterday. It was supposed to be about the new cricket season but it inevitably it drifted into politics and the host of bullying ineptitudes in the Tory Party. When the conversation drifted towards, arguably, the most inept of them all, James described Liz Truss (AKA Trussterfuck) as a ‘Post Turtle’. I had never heard this term before. Apparently, it originates from the United States....
I was looking at some pictures of birds I have taken, the other day. One of my favourites is of a kingfisher (see above). They are incredibly quick in flight, so normally all you will see is an orange and blue blur. To see one sitting, looking for breakfast, is incredible. It’s when you realise what it really means to have your breath taken away.

One of the things I come up against in my job, is people who think they are above health & safety. It is, more often than not, older guys. Their constant claims that they are ‘old school’ and are victims of ‘health & safety gone mad’, puts me off engaging them. They have, in general, been conned by the tabloids that they are the victims of regulation. It’s a load of old tosh. They are a danger to themselves and others.
