Just got back from leg two of Swanage and though it was no heatwave, we got away quite lightly and saw at least some sunshine, and everyone had a great time. I came back on Tuesday to the surprise of everyone who thought they had got rid of me, and got straight back in to drinking and having fun.

We had a great day on Wednesday first a game of golf where I was crowned champion of Brougton, and we luckily missed most of the rain. We had a deluge in the evening, but this cleared with a beautiful rainbow over Swanage bay just as Broughton’s finest, Mavis Grind, took to the stage and put on a great show for the holidaymakers as part of carnival week.
Yesterday we all managed to get to the beach and finished with a boozy night last night to round off a great week. The lovely Diane and all the people of Broughton made we feel so welcome and part of it all, and I would like to thank them all for great time. Off again on Sunday with the boys and John and Heidi, I have forgotten what a bed is like.
