Jean Alexander (Hilda Ogden) and Russian Aircraft!

Posted on October 17, 2016

I was very surprised to her of the death of Jean Alexander (who played Hilda Ogden in Coronation Street) at the weekend, not because of her age (90) but the fact that she has been added to my growing list of people who have died when I thought they were already long dead. Alexander left 'Corrie' in 1987 (about the time I had her certified dead) but apparently went on to appear (for 22 years no less) in 'Last of the Summer Wine' a Sunday ...

Sky Sports Goes and So Does Big Sam!

Posted on September 28, 2016

My last bill for Sky TV and Broadband came in at a whopping £105:00 for a month spent watching barely any television, so yesterday, I cancelled it. This is not an easy task when you have a pitiful Scottish woman desperately trying to talk you out of it so she can keep her low paid job within the Murdoch empire based in an offshore tax haven. When asked why I was cancelling, I nearly told the lady that it was not her fault, it was just that I ...
