The Unlikely Rise of Stevie G!
Up until last week, I had long since given up on watching England play, or attempt to play football. The pathetic "Wally with the Brolly" surrender in a 2007 qualifier against Croatia, followed by our national team being the largest stain on an awful 2010 World Cup in South Africa, had me and many others, retreating to watching domestic football or indeed no football at all. England were a disjointed team featuring charact...
A Cheeky BLT and a Sausage Shocker!
Facebook posts and links from my friends are often about nostalgia, a Great British fascination recalling the golden days of Commodore computers, Rubik's cubes, footballers with perms and Sam Fox's breasts. So imagine the diversity in my delight when today, I did the exact opposite by experiencing what it is like going forward thirty years rather than back. Like any typical hypochondriac male, I have been putting this off for a while through fear of the optician stopping halfway through the test and saying..."Oh my God, I'm going to have to stop, please sit still while I get an ambulance!" An eye test can show up ...
A Weekend in the Midlands!
Maybe it is because I am soon to be moving nearer to coast that made me have the sudden desire to travel in the other direction and go to the Midlands for the weekend. And a wise choice it was eventually to be. The trip actually came about from an aborted trip to London after my fiancée and I realised that the 'National Wedding Show' was at the NEC in Birmingham and not Earls Court. As with the case with most blokes, my enthusiasm towards ...
